Our Communion ministers now use hand sanitizer before serving you. If you are not feeling well, let the church know so we can pray for you while you rest at home. We want everyone to be healthy!

Sometimes called cell groups or living room small groups, connection groups provide safe places where you can join with a small group of people to focus on forming a deeper relationship with God as you connect with other people and your church. We have several groups meeting during the day and in the evenings. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Rev. Deb.

If you're a coupon shopper, bring in any coupons you don't need and exchange them for coupons you do need! The Inreach team is coordinating a coupon exchange which will be open after service every week during fellowship.

Do you or someone you know need some help with groceries? Angel Food Ministries can help out.

Angel Food Ministries offers quality groceries at reduced cost, including meat, vegetables, fruit, cereal and side items. A basic box is intended to feed a family of four for a week, and includes items such as chicken breasts, pork chops, strip steaks, chicken nuggets, cereal, bacon, carrots, stir fry vegetable mix, rice, bean soup mix and desserts. (The food items included in a box change from month to month.)

The cost of the basic box is $30. A box of prepared meals is also available for $28. With the purchase of either a basic box or a prepared meal box, other boxes can be added onto your order. The add-on boxes include fresh fruits and vegetables or additional meats or side fixings, and run from $15 to $22. Food stamps are accepted, and there are no qualifications to meet or papers to fill out. Some host sites will not take checks, so be sure to ask your host site which methods of payment they will accept before you go to pick up your order.

There is an ongoing need for food, cleaning supplies and toiletries at the Ruth Ellis Center. Some of their current needs are:

Snack size individually wrapped foods (crackers, cookies, granola bars, etc.)

Bottled water (small bottles)

Bath towels and washcloths
New socks and underwear
Glass cleaner

Please bring donations of pantry items and frozen meat for collection. Be sure the items are not past their expiration date and have not been opened. If you would like to donate frozen meat, please let the office know first, so that the items can be put in the freezer until the next pickup.

Every Sunday (with very few exceptions) a group of 30-50 people from MCCD converges on Jimi's Restaurant after the 11:00 service. After the fellowship and refreshments in the basement, some of us still don't want to say goodbye! Anyone who's interested is welcome to join the group. If you need a ride or directions, ask around in the basement. Someone will certainly be able to help you get there.

Individual bills are given and prices are from $5 on up for breakfast and lunch. Even if this is your first Sunday with us, you are invited to come and join us for lunch.

Want to get to know a bit more about the people who are on staff at MCC Detroit? On the second Sunday of every month, the MCCD staff will meet with new (and old!) friends at lunch at Jimi's Restaurant in downtown Royal Oak.

Walking Together, the MCC Detroit cancer ministry meets regularly on the first Monday of each month. This group is for all those facing cancer or other life-threatening illnesses, and their partners, caregivers, or others whose lives have been affected. If you have an extra vehicle you want to get rid of, please call Charity Motors Car Donation Program and tell them you want to donate your vehicle and designate the proceeds to MCC Detroit. You'll receive a tax deduction while helping our church!

Please put any bottles or cans that are Michigan returnables into the box in the hallway between the office and the sanctuary.

In case of a service cancellation due to weather, we will send out an email and change the message on the office phone. Please be sure and check before coming out if the weather is questionable. We want all of you to be safe!
